Coming down to the final 10 games of the season, the Cardinals have just taken a 2 game lead in the NL Central, thanks in part to a 9th inning loss by the Pirates.
The Cardinals have a relatively easy schedule finishing up the season, playing 1 more game against the Rockies, then 3 against the Brewers, 3 against the Nationals and finally 3 against the Cubs to close out the regular season.
The Pirates and Reds both play 6 of their last 10 games against each other, making for an exciting finish.
Meanwhile in the AL Wildcard, the Royals found out that you are actually supposed to swing at that small white ball that has been getting thrown at them all season, and are in contention for a Wild Card spot.
Also in the AL Wildcard, the Texas Rangers are calling it quits and trying to get out of yet another postseason of heartbreak, going 2-8 in their last 10 and doing everything in their power to avoid making the playoffs, apparently the Astros invited them to watch the postseason with them, and many Ranger players felt that would be far more relaxing than actually PLAYING in the playoffs.
