A Letter To The St. Louis Blues

Dear Mr. Blues,

We, first want to apologize in advance for the mature content and strong language that you are about to read; but in view of all that has happened in this year’s run to the Cup, we felt it was appropriate.

Just wanted to say thank you for a huge season.

Your dedication to excellence was obvious for all to see.  As a team you played with tenacity and with a strong desire to win, night in and night out.

One of the most entertaining regular seasons that I have personally ever observed in 35+ years.

The product on the ice is no doubt a strong reflection of a very capable ownership group and management team from top to bottom.

Ok, I know, you are waiting for the other shoe to drop now… right?

Well, here we go…

The Playoffs were electrifying.  We jumped up and down like mad men when we scored and crawled under the bed when the Hawks scored.

The triple overtime winner will be talked about for years to come.

However, we realize the boys caught the proverbial injury bug and were dropping like flies.  There is virtually nothing that you could have been done to prevent this and we recognize that the series of injuries limited the full potential this prodigious team had going deep into the playoffs.

But, nonetheless, you gave it everything you had and carried the team colors with pride.  In doing so, you have dignified those who have worn the Blue Note before you.

Thanks again for a fun ride and look forward to an even better season next year.
