Minnesota Mild

The Blues have yet to be beaten by a Central Division team in regulation (17-0-1). Minnesota’s head coach, Mike Yeo was asked if he was in anyway frightened by the Blues beefy record against the Central.

Coach Yeo’s response, “I was taught early in life that you have to face your fears.”

You see, as a kid growing up on a farm in Moose Jaw Canada, I had a very strange phobia, it is called Bovinophobia.  I was afraid of cows.

One of the ways my old Uncle MacDonald helped me to overcome my fear was by having me sing the “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” nursery rhyme with him every night before going to bed

I came to associate the cows with my pleasant experiences spending time with my Uncle… and eventually overcame my fear of cows.

So last night, before bed, I had each one my players sing this song to me over the phone… except we changed a few of the words.

It went something like this:

Old Coach Yeo faced a team who was 17-0-1.

And on this team they had some studs, Backes-Oshie-Miller.

With a hit hit here and a save save there.

Here a goal there a goal everywhere a goal goal.

Old Coach Yeo faced a team who will be 18-0-1

The end, good night boys!

– Lets go Blues!
